WATER TURBINES
Alternative Energy Power Products

Water turbines have been a good source of power for many centuries.

How does a water turbine compare to solar or wind power?
If you have access to a continuous source of running water, a water turbine should be considered because it will be more cost effective than either solar or wind power.

It has the advantage of running 24 hours a day and the battery storage capacity can be reduced.

In some cases, where there is a great volume of water to be harnessed, the power system can be run without batteries.

How do I know what type of turbine to use?
There are many different turbines available, each designed to gain maximum benefit from a specific type of water flow. Sites have to be individually assessed for head and flow of water before a turbine can be chosen.
