Alternative Energy Power Systems
Stand alone power systems and Government funded rebate schemes

Is it possible to comfortably and efficiently run a family house, workshop and office on renewable energy?

Is it possible to install a Grid Tied Solar System which feeds energy back to the mains in return for an electricity rebate?

The answer to both these questions is a resounding YES!
SolarWorks is qualified and experienced to do this for you.

Stand Alone Power Systems(SAPS)
When not connected to the electricity grid, a stand-alone power system (SAPS) can be designed to suit most power needs.

These power systems utilise proven technologies and, when properly sized/designed and maintained, will give many years of reliable service.

Government Funded Rebate Schemes
With the introduction of various government-funded rebate schemes, these power systems are now within the reach of many more householders.

Power System Components
Basically, a stand-alone power system comprises:
Method of producing power - i.e. through the use of photovoltaic solar panels, wind generators, water turbines and petrol/diesel generators (and battery charger) or any combination of the above. The 'hybrid' system uses a combination of two or more methods of power production.
Deep cycle batteries - for storage of the power generated
Controller/regulator - to regulate the flow of power to the batteries and protect against over charging
Inverter - to convert battery DC voltage to 240 volt AC for use of normal household appliances.
Appropriate wiring - for low voltage, if required, together with adequate fusing, earthing, etc.. It is important that each component is matched to suit the other equipment in the system and a household's power needs.
